This church is the oldest in the country, it was built from the age of Spanish conquest. Inside, the decoration is full of details and objects from the colonial and republican times, there is a statue of the Virgin del Perpetuo Socorro, patron saint of the city, which was brought by Pedro de Valdivia from Peru, because they attributed the conquest of Chile
to her grace. The architect Fermín Vivaceta harmonized the structure of the building and added the neoclassical tower with the clock that characterizes it.
