It was inaugurated in September 2010, and is currently one of the most important cultural center of Santiago. It is located in the former Diego Portales building, which was built in 1972 and is considered an open space for the community. It has theater, dance, and music rehearsal rooms, auditoriums and study rooms. Inside there are bookstore and wine shops, the Gabriela café and restaurant, and a national gourmet products store.
